Selection Exam - Master's Degree

Graduate Program in Surgical Sciences - Class 2022

The Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Surgical Sciences, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UFRJ - Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, pursuant to Resolutions 1/2006 and 2/2006 of CEPG/ UFRJ and in accordance with the Program Regulations, it makes public that will be open on February 16 to 23, 2022, registration for the public selection to the Master's course in Surgical Sciences, class of 2022, which will be conducted by the Selection Committee according to the standards described in this notice. 10 (ten) vacancies are offered.

  1. The number of Vacancies

The Master's Degree in Surgical Sciences offers a total of 15 (fifteen) vacancies.

1.1. Taking the guidance of the Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies and Research - PR-2 of UFRJ and in line with the National Secretariat for Policies for the Promotion of Racial Equality, the Ministry of Human Rights, of the total vacancies, 20% are reserved for affirmative actions in graduate school.

  1. From Registration

Registration for the selection process of candidate(s) to the Master's Course will be open on February 16 to 232022, from 10 to 14 hours, at the secretariat of the Graduate Program, located at HUCFF - Hospital Clementino Fraga Filho of the Faculty of Medicine of UFRJ, 11th floor - Wigand Joppert Filho room, Street: Professor Rodolpho Paulo Rocco, nº 255 - Ilha do Fundão, - Rio de Janeiro/RJ.

  1. Registration Documents

At the time of registration the applicant must present the following documents:

  1. a) School history and Diploma (certified copies), of the Undergraduate Course in Medicine or related areas, recognized by MEC;
  2. b) Curriculum Vitae in Lattes format, updated and vouchers (copies);
  3. c) Proof of bond in regular activity in undergraduate research, such as scientific initiation; having, preferably, been a fellow of promotional agencies or monitor;
  4. d) Dissertation project, in progress, inserted in the research lines of the Program (three printed copies) and with partial results;
  5. e) Letter signed by permanent professor of the Surgical Sciences Program (the list is on the page of thePost-Graduation Board ofthe Faculty of Medicine/UFRJ) http://ppgfm.medicina.ufrj.br/, agreeing to guide the proposer, if approved;
  6. f) Proof of approval of the project in the respective Ethics Committee (CEP -Clínica Cirúrgica, or CEUA- Cirurgia Experimental)
  7. g) Identity document and Social Security (copies);
  8. h) Registration of the Regional Council of Medicine or the area of the like, when relevant;
  9. i) Certificate, of recognized institution, which proves ability to read and understand in English  (Recommended, but not preventing registration).

Note: The student who does not prove by certificate his proficiency in English, undertakes to take proof of knowledge of the language, performed by this Institution, in the first year after its registration.

  1. From the Selection Process

The selection exam for the Master's degree will consist of:

Curriculum Vitae analysis, Lattes format, weight 5 (five);

Project Defense, comprising presentation of the same (limited up to 20 minutes), weight 5 (five)

The Selection will be held on March 7, 8, and 9, 2022, from 9 to 16 hours, at the Experimental Surgery Center, Block J, 2nd floor, located in the Center of Health Sciences of UFRJ, University City, Fundão Island.

The scale of presentation of the Project will be disclosed in due course, after registration, posted on the notice board in the Program secretariat and via e-mail informed by the candidate.

  1. Final Result

The list containing the names of the selected will be published electronicly and posted to the Program Secretariat.

  1. Registration

The registration of approved will be held on March 22, 2022, in the secretariat of the Graduate Program in Surgical Sciences. The enrollment in courses will be online from March 26 to April 5, 2022. The documentation to be presented will be informed at a later date.

The Master's degree in Surgical Sciences offers CAPES scholarships, the concession and division of which will be made according to their availability, according to criteria set by the Program's Deliberative Commission.

The graduate program in Surgical Sciences will be awarded with financial resources from the ufrj budget for Qualification and Qualification of Servers, in the monthly amount corresponding to a master's and/or doctorate scholarship, per student server, Professor or Technical-Administrative in Education regularly enrolled, according to the Institutional Qualification Program - PQI / UFRJ.

  1. Final Provisions

The candidate who participates in the selection process will recognize the acceptance of the standards set out in this Notice.

 

Omitted or dubious cases will be tried by the Program's Deliberative Committee.

Graduate Program in Surgical Sciences - Class 2022

The Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Surgical Sciences, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, UFRJ- Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, pursuant to Resolutions 1/2006 and 2/2006 of CEPG/ UFRJ and in accordance with the Program Regulations, it makes public that will be open on February 16 to 232022registration for the public selection to the Doctoral course in Surgical Sciences,class of 2022,which will be conducted by the Selection Committee according to the standards described in this notice. Ten (10) vacancies are offered, of CONTINUOUS FLOW, for registration in the months of April to September.

  1. The number of Vacancies

The Doctoral Course in Surgical Sciences offers a total of 10 (ten) vacancies.

1.1.   4. d) Thesis project, in progress, inserted in the research lines of the Program (three printed copies) and with partial results;
  5. e) Letter signed by permanent professor of the Surgical Sciences Program (the list is on the page of the Post-Graduation Board of the Faculty of Medicine/UFRJ) http://ppgfm.medicina.ufrj.br/, agreeing to guide the proposer, if approved;
  6. f) Proof of approval of the project in the respective Ethics Committee (CEP -Clínica Cirúrgica, or CEUA- Cirurgia Experimental)
  7. g) Publication of the Master's Thesis, in the form of a complete article in an indexed journal, at least in the PubMed/Medline database with impact factor;
  8. h) Identity document and CPF (copy);
  9. i) Registration of the Regional Council of Medicine or the area of the like, when relevant;
  10. j) Certificate, of recognized institution, which proves ability to read and understand in English (Recommended, but not preventing registration).

Note: The student who does not prove, by certificate his proficiency in English, undertakes to take proof of knowledge of the language, performed by this Institution, in the first year after his registration.

The admissibility of the PhD Candidate, without the Master's degree, will be conditional on the approval of the Program's Deliberative Committee.

The selection exam for the Doctorate will consist of two knockout phases:

Curriculum Vitae analysis,lattes format, weight 5 (five);

Project Defense, comprising presentation of the same (limited up to 20 minutes), weight 5 (five)

The Selection will be held on March 7, 8, and 9, 2022, from 9 to 16 hours, at the Experimental Surgery Center, Block J, 2nd floor, located in the Center of Health Sciences of UFRJ, University City, Fundão Island.

The Evaluation of the Research Project will be made by the Examining Board, gathered for this purpose, composed of members appointed by the Deliberative Committee of the Program.

The scale of presentation of the Project will be disclosed in due course, after registration, posted on the notice board in the Program secretariat and via e-mail informed by the candidate.

The list containing the names of those selected will be published electronicly and posted to the Program Secretariat

  1. Registration

The registration of those approved to the Doctoral Course will be held from March to September, at the secretariat of the Graduate Program in Surgical Sciences. The procedure will be informed at a later date.

The Doctoral course in Surgical Sciences offers capes scholarships, whose concession and division will be made according to their availability, according to criteria set by the Program's Deliberative Commission.

The graduate program in Surgical Sciences will be awarded with financial resources from the ufrj budget for Qualification and Qualification of Servers, in the monthly amount corresponding to a master's and/or doctorate scholarship, per student server, Professor or Technical-Administrative in Education regularly enrolled, according to the Institutional Qualification Program - PQI / UFRJ.

The registered candidate who is not selected will have a period of up to 60 (sixty days) to remove the documents submitted, after which they will be unused.

The candidate who participates in the selection process will recognize the acceptance of the standards set out in this Notice.
