Selection Exam for Admission to the Master’s Degree Program in Clinical Medicine of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro

The Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Clinical Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, under the terms of Resolutions 1/2006 and 2/2006 of the CEPG / UFRJ and in accordance with the Program Rules, makes public that from January 16 to 20, 2023, applications for admission to the Master’s Degree in Clinical Medicine, class of 2023-1, which will be conducted by the Selection Commission according to the rules described in this announcement.

This Call for Applications establishes the rules and procedures for the selection of candidates for the Master’s Degree Program in Clinical Medicine for the first semester of 2023 which, respecting the orientation of the UFRJ Rectory, will occur remotely due to the period of social distancing, only and exclusively during the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Degree - MASTER

The Program will provide an overall total of 50 places for the Academic Master.

In accordance with the orientation of the Pro-Rectory of Graduate Studies and Research (Pró-Reitoria de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa - PR-2) of UFRJ and in accordance with the National Secretariat for Policies for the Promotion of Racial Equality (Secretaria Nacional de Políticas de Promoção da Igualdade Racial), of the Ministry of Human Rights, 20% of the total places are reserved for affirmative action in the graduate program.

 

Item 1 -Applications

Applications for the selection process of candidate(s) to the Master’s Degree will be open from January 16 to 20, 2023, and should be made by e-mail (O endereço de e-mail address está sendo protegido de spambots. Você precisa ativar o JavaScript enabled para vê-lo.) by the candidates’ advisors, who shall necessarily be a Permanent Faculty member of the Program.

 

Item 2 - Evaluation

The selection of candidates is made in 3 (three) distinct steps. All steps are mandatory and of eliminatory nature.

 

First Step- The candidate to enter the Master’s Degree Program shall be, previously, in a research internship, during which the professor responsible for the student will evaluate the intern’s performance, which shall be proved by adeclaration of enrollment. Only after the conclusion of the research internship (of at least 3 months) the intern may take the selection exam for admission into the Program.

 

Second Step- Approval in the evaluation of the research project, made by an examining board composed of two holders of a doctoral degree (faculty or technical-administrative members) from UFRJ. The result is approval or disapproval.

 

Third Step - Evaluation of specific knowledgein the candidate’s training area will be done remotely, with the written consent of the candidate and the advisor. The Chair of the examining board will provide the Minutes, which will be signed by him. The evaluation shall be recorded, and a copy sent to the program coordination.If there is no technical availability on the part of the candidate for the remote evaluation, the advisor shall provide such means. Exceptionally, the evaluation may be made in person at a location to be appointed by the advisor with access to digital media and shall have the candidate’s approval. The result shall be sent by the supervisor to the Program’s e-mail address (O endereço de e-mail address está sendo protegido de spambots. Você precisa ativar o JavaScript enabled para vê-lo.) until February 3, 2023. The minimum score of the specific knowledge test is 7.0 (seven). The Test of English for Academic Purposes (TEAP) will be held remotely on February 1th, 2022 through the Tese Prime Company website. The minimum score is 7.0 (seven) for the Master’s degree.

 

Item 3 - Final Outcome

The applicant’s approval will be informed by e-mail in which he/she will follow the list of necessary documents and the enrollment form.

Subsequently, the approved applicants will receive an e-mail with information for enrollment, which will also occur remotely.

There is no forecast number of scholarships available.                                                                          

The Master’s Degree in Clinical Medicine offers scholarships from CAPES and CNPq, which will be granted and divided according to their availability, according to criteria established by the Development Agencies and the Deliberative Commission of the Graduate Program in Clinical Medicine.

 

Item 4 - Final Provisions

The candidate who participates in the selection process will recognize the acceptance of the standards established in this Call for Applications.

Any omitted or dubious cases shall be judged by the Deliberative Commission of the Program.

Selection for admission to the Doctoral Course of the Graduate Program in Clinical Medicine of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.

The Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Clinical Medicine of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, under the terms of Resolutions 1/2006 and 2/2006 of the CEPG / UFRJ and in accordance with the Program Regulation, makes public that applications for admission to the Doctoral Course in Clinical Medicine, class of 2023-1 will be open, from January 16 to 20, 2023, which will be conducted by the Selection Commission as described in this Call for Applications.

Second Step- Approval in the evaluation of the research project made by an examining board composed of three holders of a doctoral degree (faculty or technical-administrative members) from UFRJ. The result is approval or disapproval.

 

Third Step - The Test of English for Academic Purposes (TEAP) will be held remotely on February 1th, 2023 through the EmpresaTese Prime website. The minimum score is 8.0 (eight) for the Doctorate.

 

Item 3 - Registration

The candidate’s approval will be informed by e-mail in which the list of necessary documents and the enrollment form will be sent.

Afterwards, the approved candidates will receive an e-mail with information for enrollment, which will also occur remotely.
